Meet Rebecca

Hi I'm Rebecca Harvey, welcome to the site and thanks for taking the time to have a look around. I was first introduced to yoga by my Nana as a young child, curious about the yoga books full of mystical poses, I would copy her doing yoga poses all around the house. Over the years I've been lucky enough to be guided by many other inspiring teachers whose practices have been rooted in Iyengar, Ashtanga, Vinyasa and more typical Hatha Yoga styles and each in their own way have helped me experience the power of pausing and influenced my teaching style. Many years travelling and working abroad as a white water rafting and outdoor pursuits instructor and being immersed in different cultures sparked my intrigue in the spiritual and philosophical aspects of eastern traditions.

Yoga satisfies my need to move, feel grounded and flexible and compliments other activities I really enjoy such as SUP, running with the dog, swimming outdoors, fell walking and triathlon.

As well as the physical benefits that drew me to yoga initially, the times when my wellbeing needed a boost have been well met within the practice of yoga and I really hope I'm able to share this with you and bring your yoga to life.

As someone with a passion for the outdoors who feels a sense of awe in natural surroundings, I'm drawn to practicing yoga outdoors and on SUP - which brings another magical (and often wobbly!) dimension to my own Yoga practice.

My current teacher training with the British Wheel of Yoga is in the broad umbrella term of the Hatha Yoga Tradition incorporating philosophy, asana, pranayama, meditation, relaxation, chanting and mantra.

I have been consistently registered with HCPC throughout my professional career, I have teaching insurance through BWY and hold first aid and mental health first aid qualifications.

The knowledge and experience of 20+ years' trauma informed relational work and is interspersed within the Yoga I share.
